A Bit about Craig Shaw

The more I witness our Civil Liberties and economic viability eroding, being stripped away by a class of people more interested in their bottom line than the plight of their fellow humans, the more I feel that people need to stand up, speak out and defend the precepts of "Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness."  For too long, too many of us have stood on the sidelines, wringing our hands, afraid of offending, hurting feelings, not being inclusive enough.  Those of us not affiliated with the Right wing/Conservative/Tea Party set have long been too meek in the pursuit of standing up for those who have been exploited by a system all too happy to continue its exploitation.  Standing Rock, Black Lives Matter, Occupy Wall Street and other demonstrations and movements have started to awaken some of us to the egregiousness of the super-wealthy and the corporate class's treatment of the working poor and middle class.  It is time that we quit fooling ourselves with the laughable platitude that the U.S. is a classless society.  The current levels of inequality in income and wealth nullifies that. Control of the government shows that to be false.  If we want to see change, we truly need to become "We the People" and act like it, taking the levers of power from those who currently are so tightly grasping them. This takes work, though. Exhausting work. Physical, mental and spiritual work. But work that must be done if we want to really make the world a better place.
